Area: 3 sq.km. - Population: 297 (as of 2001)
Mathraki is the smallest and southest of the three islands. It is 6km far from Agios Stefanos. The island's port is in Plakes, which however have no organized settlement. Small graphic settlements you will see in Benatika, Geatika and Karagioulatika. It is worth walking along the old port, Kontolaka and enjoy nature.
Swim in the wonderful beaches and your sight will be full of unseen pictures from the forests and the deep blue Ionian waters.
One of the characteristics of the island are the gigantic rocks inside the sea. The locals name them Karavi and Arkousa. According to the legend it is a Turkish ship and the boat with robbers that were going to loot the church of Saint Nicholas. But the saint petrified the ship and the boat near the shore that are until today.
